MAHART Container Center Kft and Verbis Kft signed the delivery of a new rail mounted gantry crane (RMG) manufactured by SANY, after about 2 years of careful negotiation. The ordered RMG have a structure with two cantilevers, a useful span of 54 m and a load capacity of 41 MT. Its lifting height is 12 m above the rail. The crane will be able to load containers, craneable semi-trailers, SWAP WAB, by road, rail and water, in the latter case being a modern and faster solution for loading ships and barges.
On behalf of SANY Europe, Business Development Director Daniel Zhong and European Port Machinery Manager Al-Ahaad Mahir were present at the signing. The contract was signed by Zoltán Fábián and Dr. Sándor Veres, the managing directors of the two contracting partners.
Sany, the world's number one port and inland container terminal crane manufacturer, has so far only been present in the Far East and the American continent. The first SANY intermodal crane in Europe will go to Hungary.
Sany makes sure that the parts of the crane that the factory does not purchase directly, are obtained from well-known and recognized manufacturers present in Europe. Electrical systems, for example, are based on the use of Siemens components and sub-systems. The transformers are manufactured by AEG, the bearings are manufactured by SKF, and the holding frame is manufactured by ELME.
Once assembled and commissioned, the equipment will start working at the MCC site in Csepel in the summer of 2025 at the latest.
