TRAFFIC INFORMATION

Dear Partner!

In April 2024, Hungarian Concession Infrastructure Development Plc. started scheduled road refurbishment works on the junction branches of the M4 semi-motorway near Ferenc Liszt International Airport.

Due to the pavement refurbishment, traffic diversions and lane closures are to be expected. The works are carried out in several phases and expected to last until mid-May. Only one junction branch will be closed at a time, to minimize disruption to traffic.

Phase 6 is expected to start on 2 May and finish at the end of the day on 6 May.

During this period, work will be carried out on the overpass on the M4 just before the junction of Ferenc Liszt International Airport. The airport will remain accessible from all directions, but traffic restrictions will be in place.

The overpass has already been resurfaced and work will now take place along both edges of the bridge. In the meantime, traffic will be continuous on 1+1 lanes. During the refurbishment works, traffic restrictions are expected in alternating directions.

Motorists should expect congestion and longer travel times.

Before the start of the new phase, the company will continue to provide detailed information on where and what kind of lane closures and diversions to expect. The latest information will be published on their website and Facebook page. Information on traffic changes related to the refurbishment will also be shared on Budapest Airport’s channels.

We advise our partners to check the traffic situation before approaching the airport in the coming weeks and to leave on time. Diversions and closures may also affect the time it takes to get to the airport by car and public transport.

Regards,

Budapest Airport
